Job Summary
The Head of Factory Logistics Equipment is responsible for overseeing the planning, operation, maintenance, and optimization of all logistics equipment within the factory. This role ensures the stable operation of automated systems, material‑handling equipment, and internal logistics processes to support production efficiency and safety. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, experience with automation, and the ability to lead cross‑functional improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the management of all factory logistics equipment, including AGVs/AMRs, conveyors, forklifts, automated storage systems, and material‑handling tools.
Develop equipment operation strategies to support production planning, warehouse operations, and internal material flow.
Oversee preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to optimize logistics processes and equipment utilization.
Manage equipment vendors, service providers, and integrators, including contract negotiation and performance evaluation.
Drive automation and digitalization projects to enhance efficiency and reduce labor intensity.
Monitor key equipment KPIs such as uptime, maintenance cost, throughput, and safety compliance.
Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives for equipment failures or performance issues.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and internal operational policies.
Develop and manage the logistics equipment budget, including investment planning and cost control.
Lead and mentor the logistics equipment team, building technical capability and operational excellence.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Industrial Engineering, Logistics Engineering, or a related field.
5–10+ years of experience in factory logistics equipment management, automation systems, or industrial maintenance.
Strong knowledge of material‑handling equipment, automation technologies, and maintenance methodologies.
Experience with AGV/AMR systems, WMS/MES/EMS integration, and automated logistics solutions is preferred.
Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and project‑management skills.
Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong understanding of safety standards and compliance requirements.
Vendor management and equipment procurement experience is a plus.
