This role will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, optimizing total cost of ownership, and ensuring supply continuity across multiple business units and manufacturing sites. The successful candidate will work closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to support business growth, product innovation, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Strategic Sourcing & Category Management Develop and implement sourcing strategies for fine chemicals, specialty chemicals, additives, intermediates, solvents, catalysts, and other critical raw materials. Drive supplier selection, qualification, evaluation, and performance management activities. Lead commercial negotiations on pricing, contracts, payment terms, and long-term supply agreements. Identify opportunities for cost reduction, value engineering, and supplier consolidation. Supplier Management Build and maintain strong relationships with key global and regional suppliers. Monitor supplier performance in quality, delivery, cost competitiveness, innovation, and sustainability. Conduct regular supplier business reviews and support supplier development initiatives. Manage supply risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure business continuity. Cross-functional Collaboration Partner with R&D teams to support new product development and raw material qualification projects. Collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality teams to resolve supply and quality issues. Work closely with Supply Chain teams to maintain inventory optimization and supply continuity. Support sustainability, compliance, and ESG initiatives within the supply base. Market Intelligence & Risk Management Monitor market trends, capacity changes, feedstock costs, regulatory developments, and geopolitical risks. Provide market insights and sourcing recommendations to senior leadership. Develop contingency sourcing strategies for key raw materials. Procurement Governance Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and ethical sourcing standards. Lead contract management and procurement process improvement initiatives. Support procurement digitalization and data analytics projects. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree or above in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Supply Chain Management, or related disciplines. MBA or professional procurement certification (CIPS, CPSM, ISM) is a plus. Experience 8+ years of procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management experience. Strong experience purchasing fine chemicals, specialty chemicals, additives, intermediates, or related chemical products. Experience working within multinational manufacturing, chemical, coatings, materials, life sciences, or industrial companies. Demonstrated success in supplier negotiations and category strategy development.
