Freight Revenue and Agency Accounts Manager

Qualifications and experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Maritime Studies, or a related discipline. Professional accounting qualification or relevant certification is advantageous. Five or more years of experience in shipping finance, freight accounting, agency accounting, revenue control, or accounts receivable. Experience working with shipping agents, freight forwarders, vessel operators, or international logistics companies. Good understanding of freight invoicing, collections, agency commissions, port operations, and shipping documentation. Experience with reconciliations across multiple countries, currencies, and accounting systems. Familiarity with bills of lading, cargo manifests, booking records, freight invoices, and statements of account.   Required skills Strong numerical, analytical, and reconciliation skills. Good knowledge of accounting principles and revenue controls. Ability to identify discrepancies and follow them through to resolution. Strong communication and negotiation skills when dealing with overseas agents. Good organization and ability to manage multiple countries, ports, and reporting deadlines. High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP, shipping, or maritime accounting systems. Ability to work with different currencies, time zones, legal environments, and business practices.
