Job Title: China Human Resources Director (HRD)
Location: China (Manufacturing Sites + Corporate Office)
Reports to: China GM / Global CHRO
Scope: Full HR leadership for China operations
Position Overview:
The China Human Resources Director (HRD) is responsible for leading the full HR agenda across all China operations, including manufacturing plants, supply chain hubs, R&D centers, and commercial offices. This role serves as a strategic business partner to the China Country Head and site leadership teams, ensuring the HR strategy supports business growth, operational excellence, and organizational transformation.
The HRD will oversee talent strategy, labor relations, organizational development, leadership capability building, and HR operations, while ensuring compliance with China’s labor laws and alignment with global HR frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Leadership:
Develop and execute the China HR strategy aligned with business priorities, manufacturing needs, and global HR direction.
Serve as a key advisor to the China leadership team on organizational design, workforce planning, and people‑related decisions.
Drive HR transformation initiatives to support digitalization, automation, and operational efficiency.
Talent Management & Leadership Development:
Build a strong talent pipeline for critical roles across manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and commercial functions.
Lead succession planning, leadership development programs, and high‑potential talent initiatives.
Partner with global and regional teams to implement talent frameworks and capability‑building programs.
Organizational Development & Culture:
Support organizational change initiatives, including restructuring, plant expansion, and integration projects.
Champion company values and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Partner with leadership to enhance employee engagement and retention.
Stakeholder & Cross‑Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with plant managers, supply chain leaders, and commercial heads to address workforce challenges and business needs.
Collaborate with global HR COEs (Talent, C&B, Learning, HR Operations) to localize and execute global programs.
Represent China HR in regional and global HR forums.
Qualifications & Experience:
12–18+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior HR leadership role in manufacturing or industrial sectors.
Strong understanding of China labor laws, manufacturing workforce dynamics, and multi‑site HR management.
Proven experience in talent management, organizational development, and leadership capability building.
Demonstrated success partnering with senior business leaders in a matrixed, multinational environment.
Experience managing labor relations and union environments is highly preferred.
Fluent in Mandarin and English; strong communication and influencing skills.
