KD Automobile Packaging Manager Experience – 5-6 Yrs Location: In China——Anhui Wuhu Role Purpose The Packaging Expert will represent JSW Motors internationally and support packaging development, optimization, compliance, and supplier coordination with global sourcing and shipments into India. The role is critical in ensuring safe, compliant, cost-effective, and sustainable packaging solutions aligned with company and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Packaging Development & Optimization • Develop, evaluate, and improve packaging solutions for domestic and international shipments. • Ensure packaging is robust, economical, and suitable for long-distance transportation (sea/air/road). • Standardize packaging formats to reduce cost, damage, and handling complexity. • To Improve Container Saturation to optimize logistic cost Supplier & Vendor Coordination • Work closely with overseas suppliers, vendors, and packaging manufacturers on behalf of company, • Review and approve packaging designs, materials, and specifications before production. • Conduct packaging-related technical discussions and audits at supplier locations. Compliance & Quality Assurance • Ensure packaging complies with international and Indian regulations (ISPM 15, HS codes, labeling, hazardous material norms, etc.). • Verify packaging quality through inspections, trials, and performance testing. • Support resolution of packaging-related quality issues, damages, or non-conformances. Cost & Sustainability Initiatives • Identify opportunities for cost reduction through material optimization and redesign. • Promote sustainable and eco-friendly packaging alternatives where feasible. • Analyze total landed cost impact of packaging choices. Documentation & Reporting • Prepare and maintain packaging specifications, drawings, SOPs, and approval documents. • Share regular reports with India-based teams on packaging status, risks, and improvements. • Support packaging data required for logistics planning, customs, and insurance. • Work closely with China Supplier to resolve all Part Claim related open issues on timely manner. Cross-functional Support • Collaborate with logistics, procurement, quality, and engineering teams in India. • Support new product introductions, localization projects, and supplier onboarding. • Act as the packaging technical point of contact in the assigned international region. Required Qualifications & Experience • Degree/Diploma in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. • 5-6 years of experience in packaging design, industrial packaging, or export packaging. • Strong understanding of international logistics and export-import packaging requirements. • Hands-on experience working with overseas suppliers and global supply chains. • Knowledge of packaging materials such as wood, plastic, metal, corrugated, and returnable packaging. Key Skills & Competencies • Strong technical knowledge of industrial and export packaging specially for Automobile field • MUST know Chinese ( Mandarin ) languages and Understanding • Excellent communication and coordination skills, • Cost analysis and problem-solving mindset. • Familiarity with international packaging and safety standards. • Ability to work independently as a company representative abroad. Travel & Engagement Model • Frequent travel to supplier locations within the assigned region.
