Logistics Procurement Leader

1. Procurement Strategy Development Develop and implement procurement strategies for each logistics service line. Lead monthly/quarterly tenders, rate reviews, and commercial negotiations. Apply leverage instruments such as volume commitments, load consistency, long‑term vs spot contracting, and alternative routing to secure favourable commercial terms. 2. Market Intelligence & Cost Benchmarking Continuously track actual market rates (not published indices) across China domestic, Southeast Asia, South Asia, East Africa, and Latin America. Benchmark company-paid rates against real market levels to identify savings opportunities. Analyse seasonality, emerging channels, and multimodal alternatives (rail vs sea, road feeder combinations) to support procurement decisions. 3. Commercial Alignment with Sales Partner with the commercial team to promote delivery channels that maximise netback per transaction. Provide landed cost scenarios and alternative route recommendations. Constructively challenge internal sales preferences when logistics economics clearly favour other options. 4. Supplier Relationship Management Build and maintain long-term partnerships with ocean carriers, freight forwarders, 3PLs, and warehouse operators. Drive supplier performance through KPI tracking (on-time delivery, cargo safety, responsiveness). Resolve escalations and secure priority treatment during peak seasons or capacity constraints. 5. Team Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration Lead two direct reports (analytics and operational procurement). Ensure seamless end-to-end procurement execution from market data to contract signing. Align with Global Supply Chain and Finance on budgets, forex exposure, and compliance.
