Supplier Development Quality Engineer (SDQE) Location: Changzhou, Jiangsu Reporting To: Supplier Quality Manager Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Supplier Development Quality Engineer (SDQE) to support supplier quality development activities for new product launches. This role focuses on supplier qualification, APQP implementation, PPAP validation, process capability improvement, and quality risk management throughout the product development lifecycle. The successful candidate should possess strong expertise in injection molding processes, supplier quality management, and quality tools, with the ability to communicate effectively in English within a global working environment. Key Responsibilities Supplier Development & Qualification Participate in supplier selection, qualification, and development activities. Conduct supplier quality system and process assessments. Drive supplier capability improvement and ensure compliance with quality requirements. New Project Quality Management Lead supplier quality activities during new product development and launch phases. Manage APQP implementation and monitor project milestones. Review and approve PPAP submissions and associated quality documentation. Ensure supplier readiness before mass production. Process Quality Assurance Review and validate PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Charts, SPC, MSA, and capability studies. Monitor supplier process performance and identify potential risks. Support process optimization and continuous quality improvement initiatives. Quality Issue Resolution Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities using 8D and other problem-solving methodologies. Drive timely closure of supplier quality concerns. Work closely with suppliers to establish effective preventive measures. Technical Support Review engineering drawings and technical specifications. Interpret GD&T requirements and support suppliers in measurement and inspection planning. Provide technical guidance regarding manufacturing process capability and quality control methods. Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate closely with internal engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and quality teams. Communicate with global stakeholders regarding supplier quality status, project progress, and risk management. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or related disciplines preferred. Experience Minimum 5 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Supplier Development, Manufacturing Quality, or Process Engineering. Experience supporting new product introduction and supplier qualification activities. Candidates from either of the following backgrounds are welcome: Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE/SDQE) Injection Molding Process Engineer with strong interest in quality management Technical Competencies Expert knowledge of injection molding processes and troubleshooting. Strong understanding of: APQP (all phases) PPAP PFMEA Control Plan SPC MSA Process Capability Analysis Familiarity with supplier validation and industrialization processes. Ability to independently solve complex manufacturing and quality-related issues. Drawing Interpretation Solid understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T. Familiar with European drawing standards and concepts such as: Maximum Material Condition (MMC) Geometric tolerancing Compensation dimensions Functional dimensioning requirements Language Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken. Comfortable participating in regular technical discussions with international stakeholders. Personal Attributes Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
