Job Description: Senior Planning Manager
Position Title
Senior Planning Manager
Location

Position Summary
The Senior Planning Manager is responsible for leading the end‑to‑end planning function, including demand planning, supply planning, production planning, capacity management, and inventory optimization. This role drives planning excellence, ensures supply continuity, and supports business growth through data‑driven decision‑making and cross‑functional collaboration. The position also leads a planning team and plays a key role in S&OP/IBP processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Planning Strategy & Leadership
Develop and execute the overall planning strategy to support business objectives
Lead and mentor the planning team, ensuring strong capability building and performance management
Drive continuous improvement in planning processes, systems, and KPIs
2. Demand Planning & Forecast Management
Oversee demand forecasting processes in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and Finance
Ensure forecast accuracy and implement corrective actions for deviations
Support S&OP/IBP cycles with data insights and scenario planning
3. Supply & Production Planning
Lead supply planning to ensure material availability, production continuity, and optimal capacity utilization
Develop mid‑ and long‑term capacity plans based on business growth and operational constraints
Coordinate with Manufacturing, Procurement, and Logistics to align supply plans with operational capabilities
4. Inventory & Materials Management
Optimize inventory levels to balance service level, working capital, and cost targets
Implement inventory control strategies, safety stock models, and replenishment policies
Monitor slow‑moving, excess, and obsolete inventory and drive reduction initiatives
5. Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Partner with Operations, Procurement, Sales, Finance, and Quality to ensure alignment across the supply chain
Lead planning input for new product introductions, engineering changes, and major business transitions
Support risk assessment and mitigation planning for supply disruptions
6. Systems & Data Management
Oversee planning system performance (ERP/MRP/APS) and drive digitalization initiatives
Ensure data accuracy, planning parameter governance, and process standardization
Leverage analytics to improve visibility, predictability, and decision‑making
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree or above in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or related fields
Master’s degree or professional certifications (APICS/CPIM/CSCP) preferred
Experience
8–12+ years of experience in supply chain or planning roles, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial position
Strong background in manufacturing, electronics, automotive, FMCG, or similar industries
Proven experience leading S&OP/IBP processes and managing complex planning environments
Skills
Deep understanding of demand planning, supply planning, MRP, capacity planning, and inventory management
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a data‑driven mindset
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities
Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and advanced planning tools
Strong command of English for business communication
