The Head of Distribution is responsible for designing, leading, and optimizing the company’s national/regional distribution strategy. This role oversees distributor management, supply chain coordination, compliance, and operational excellence to ensure medical devices reach hospitals, distributors, and partners efficiently and in full regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Distribution Strategy — Develop and execute national/regional distribution strategies, including channel structure, coverage planning, inventory models, and delivery frameworks aligned with business goals.
Distributor Management — Build and manage the distributor network, including selection, onboarding, performance evaluation, incentive design, and phase‑out mechanisms.
Supply Chain Coordination — Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Regulatory, Quality, and Logistics teams to ensure stable product supply and optimized inventory levels.
Regulatory & Quality Compliance — Ensure all distribution activities comply with medical device regulations (e.g., GSP, UDI, cold‑chain requirements, documentation standards).
Operational Optimization — Drive digital tools, S&OP processes, and inventory management systems to improve visibility, efficiency, and cost control.
Team Leadership — Lead and develop the distribution management team, set clear objectives, and enhance execution capability.
Risk Management — Identify and mitigate risks related to compliance, inventory, credit, and channel coverage.
Cross‑functional Collaboration — Work closely with Sales, Finance, Legal, and Marketing to ensure alignment between distribution strategy and commercial objectives.

Qualifications
Industry Experience — 8–12+ years of experience in the medical device industry, with strong understanding of high‑value consumables, capital equipment, or IVD distribution models.
Channel Management Expertise — Proven experience managing multi‑tier distributor networks and optimizing channel structures.
Regulatory Knowledge — Familiarity with NMPA requirements, GSP, two‑invoice system, UDI, and cold‑chain standards.
Business Acumen — Ability to translate market insights into actionable distribution strategies.
Leadership Skills — Experience managing cross‑regional teams.
Communication & Collaboration — Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
Data‑Driven Decision Making — Ability to analyze inventory, coverage, order fulfillment, and distributor performance data.
Bachelor’s degree or above; Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or Medical‑related majors preferred.
