Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Product Development
Lead the end-to-end apparel development process, from design concept to final sample approval.
Collaborate with design, merchandising, and production teams to translate creative ideas into manufacturable products.
Ensure product specifications, technical packs, and samples meet brand standards.
Fabric & Material Sourcing
Identify and source suitable fabrics, trims, and accessories.
Work with suppliers to ensure material quality, cost competitiveness, and timely delivery.
Monitor market trends and introduce innovative materials.
Supplier & Factory Management
Coordinate with garment factories and suppliers to ensure production feasibility.
Conduct supplier evaluations and maintain strong partnerships.
Negotiate costs, lead times, and production schedules.
Quality Assurance
Oversee sample fitting, testing, and quality control processes.
Ensure compliance with brand standards, safety regulations, and sustainability requirements.
Resolve technical issues during development and production stages.
Project & Timeline Management
Develop development calendars and track progress against deadlines.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure timely delivery of samples and production.
Provide regular updates and reports to senior management.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Partner with merchandising, marketing, and sales teams to align product development with market needs.
Support product launches with technical expertise and documentation.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or above in Fashion Design, Textile Engineering, Garment Technology, or related field.
7+ years of experience in apparel development, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, trims, and manufacturing processes.
Experience in supplier management and international sourcing.
Excellent project management, communication, and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in English and Mandarin preferred (for global operations).
