Senior Principal, Corporate Strategy & Investment

This position is responsible for leading medium- to long-term strategic planning related to steelmaking technologies, metallurgical project evaluation, and investment analysis. This role is critical to ensuring that major investment projects are supported by high-quality strategic research, technology assessment, and ROI/IRR-based economic evaluation in close coordination with the HQ Strategy Department.
1. Strategic Research & Technology Assessment
Conduct in-depth research on steelmaking processes and emerging metallurgical technologies.
Evaluate global and China market trends, decarbonization pathways, and industry innovations.
Benchmark leading global steelmakers and mining companies.
2. Investment & Project Evaluation
Lead ROI, IRR, NPV, and payback period analysis for major metallurgical investment projects.
Conduct feasibility studies and evaluate technology compatibility and investment rationale
Prepare decision-making reports for senior management and NLMK Strategy Department.
3. Tender, EPC/EP & Vendor Evaluation Support
Support tender preparation and evaluation of EPC/EP proposals.
Perform technology vendor comparison and cost-benefit analysis.
Assess technical, commercial, and operational risks.
4. Coordination with Global Strategy Teams
Align local strategy with the headquarter global strategy standards and methodologies.
Provide China market insights and technical evaluations for global projects.
Facilitate communication between global and Chinese engineering/technology teams.
5. Senior Stakeholder Communication
Present strategic insights and project recommendations to senior management.
Provide expert viewpoints on technology trends and investment decisions.
Share best practices from global steelmakers in interviews and internal meetings.
6. Collaboration with R&D Projects
Participate in communication and coordination of key R&D projects related to steelmaking technologies and low-carbon metallurgy.
Serve as a bridge between Strategy, Engineering, Procurement, and R&D teams to align research objectives with corporate strategy.
Track R&D progress, risks, and milestones, and provide strategic input to enhance project feasibility and industrial application.
Support integration of R&D outcomes into investment planning and technology roadmap development.
