Role Overview:
The China Marketing Director will lead the full marketing strategy and execution for the China market, driving brand growth, digital engagement, and commercial impact across multiple business lines. This role requires deep understanding of China’s digital ecosystem, strong brand‑building capability, and the ability to collaborate effectively with global headquarters to localize global strategies for China.
Key Responsibilities:
1. China Marketing Strategy & Brand Leadership
Develop and execute the annual China marketing strategy aligned with global brand direction.
Strengthen brand positioning across both B2B and B2C segments, depending on business needs.
Lead integrated marketing campaigns across digital, offline, retail, and partner channels.
Build a strong, premium, and consistent brand image in the China market.
2. Digital & China Ecosystem Expertise
Drive digital marketing across China platforms: WeChat, Weibo, Douyin, RED, Bilibili, Tmall, JD, and private‑traffic ecosystems.
Build data‑driven consumer journeys, CRM strategies, and performance marketing frameworks.
Oversee content strategy, influencer/KOL collaborations, and social commerce initiatives.
Ensure digital activities align with China’s fast‑changing tech and regulatory environment.
3. Product Marketing & Go‑to‑Market
Localize global product messaging, positioning, and launch strategies for China.
Partner with global HQ on product roadmaps, training materials, and marketing toolkits.
Lead category growth strategies across hardware, software, cloud services, or digital solutions.
Manage pricing, packaging, and competitive analysis for the China market.
4. Integrated Campaigns & Demand Generation
Lead 360° campaigns to support brand awareness, lead generation, and sales conversion.
Collaborate with sales, channel, and e‑commerce teams to drive in‑market execution.
Develop event marketing, industry forums, and partner co‑marketing programs.
5. Communication with Global HQ
Act as the key bridge between China and global marketing teams.
Provide China market insights, competitive intelligence, and consumer trends to global HQ.
Advocate for China‑specific needs while ensuring global brand consistency.
Manage alignment on messaging, creative assets, and strategic priorities.
6. Team Leadership & Budget Management
Lead and develop a high‑performing China marketing team across brand, digital, content, and PR.
Manage annual marketing budget and ensure ROI across all channels.
Oversee agency partners (creative, media, PR, digital, production).
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or above in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related fields.
10+ years of marketing experience in technology or digital‑driven industries, ideally with multinational company exposure.
Deep understanding of China’s digital ecosystem, including social media, e‑commerce, CRM, and performance marketing.
Proven experience working with global headquarters in a matrix organization.
Strong strategic thinking with hands‑on execution capability.
Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese.
Experience managing cross‑functional teams and external agencies.
