Sr. Mgr., New Business Development
Core Responsibilities
1. Identify strategic new business areas (internal/external) in the specialty glass & materials industry; analyze potential markets, applications (e.g., healthcare packaging, automotive optics, consumer electronics components) and M&A opportunities; monitor market & competitor dynamics.
2. Generate new product/business ideas (focused on high-performance glass, ceramic materials, and related functional components) based on tech trends & market demands; evaluate ideas by volume, profitability, cost, risks, IP, and roadmapping.
3. Develop customer contacts in target sectors (medical devices, automotive, electronics); lead tech studies and competitive analyses to assess economic relevance for new business.
4. Own end-to-end "New Business" projects: build international cross-functional teams, create/monitor project plans & expenditures, and support project transfer to business units.
5. Collaborate with BU leaders and central R&D to define new product positioning/sales strategies for specialty materials; build internal & external networks.
