Staff FAE Job Description The Field Applications Engineer (FAE) is part of the sales organization in a global semiconductor company to enable customers utilizing the products and technologies from the company and grow the company’s business in China region. The primary responsibility of the role is to develop design win opportunities, understand customer needs, and provide solutions based on the company’s offerings via collaboration with the customer and different teams within the company. Working with sales and factory teams closely, the FAE will help build close relationships with customers, develop and identify opportunities, discuss technical requirements and solutions, close design wins and manage the design activities until successful launch of a product. Responsibilities Develop, identify and pursue design-win opportunities of the company’s products and technologies Understand customer needs and make appropriate product recommendations to meet the needs Coordinate activities to close design wins with account manager and factory teams Maintain a high standard of technical knowledge in relationship to the company’s products, technologies, services, and competitors’. Develop sound professional relationships with key engineers, architects, and decision-makers in customer accounts Oversee and manage customer projects utilizing the company’s products, technologies, and services Skills and Experience Five or more years of experience in semiconductor industry, preferably with a full cycle of SoC (System on Chip) development experience Strong desire to grow sales and win business through above responsibilities Wide and high-level knowledge of semiconductor, SoC development process and supply chain Working knowledge of chip design flow, CPU/GPU/NPU or SoC level integrations with different IPs, EDA design methodologies, etc. Dynamic, self-starting individual with the ability to excite and instill confidence in customers about the company’s products, technologies, and services Willingness to take ownership of a problem and obtain solutions Good people skill to work with customers and internal teams at different levels Good Mandarin and English skills required Good presentation skills, able to clearly express technical concepts BS Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science. Master’s degree is a plus Ability to travel (domestic or international) up to 25% based on business needs
