Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on CFO to lead the financial function of our operations in China. This role requires deep expertise in corporate finance, cross-border banking, hedging strategies, and regulatory compliance within the Chinese financial landscape. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in working with both Chinese and international financial institutions and managing financial operations across multiple currencies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Fundraising & Financial Structuring
• Lead efforts to attract financing in various forms, including:
o Unsecured and low-collateral credit facilities
o Trade finance, factoring, and discounting of letters of credit
o Investment loans and revolving credit lines
o Corporate bond issuance in China, including obtaining local credit ratings
• Maintain and grow a network of relationships with small and mid-sized banks in China, especially in northern provinces where cooperation with Russian entities is more feasible
2. Hedging & Risk Management
• Develop and implement currency hedging strategies involving:
o Forwards, futures, and swaps
o Multi-currency (RMB, USD, RUB) exposure analysis
o Application of non-deliverable forwards and other derivatives to mitigate risk
3. Cross-Border Payments
• Supervise and ensure the smooth execution of complex international payments under sanctions and restrictions
• Coordinate with a wide range of international banks and alternative payment systems (e.g. local Chinese platforms)
• Understand nuances and compliance requirements across jurisdictions
4. Financial Oversight & Control
• Oversee tax and accounting compliance under Chinese law
• Supervise accurate and timely reporting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
• Ensure all payroll, insurance contributions, and state obligations are fulfilled
• Coordinate internal audit readiness and financial integrity of business units in China

Job Requirements
Ideal Candidate Profile:
• 10+ years in corporate finance or banking, with at least 5 years in a CFO or senior finance role
• Experience with export-import operations is essential
• Practical knowledge of financial instruments, derivative contracts, and hedging mechanics
• Track record of working with both large and small banks, especially in China
• Strategic thinker with operational capabilities and excellent communication skills
• Experience in working under complex geopolitical and financial environments is highly desirable
Nice to Have:
• Russian language skills
• Experience with Chinese corporate bond market
• Familiarity with alternative payment systems (e.g., LianLian Pay, Alipay for business)
