Sr Manager, Master Data Management/Governance (SAP MDM/MDG)

We are seeking an experienced SAP Master Data Management/Governance (MDM/MDG) professional to lead and support the implementation of SAP S/4HANA, with a specific focus on master data domains including articles, customers, and vendors. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership capabilities, and deep technical expertise in SAP MDG, particularly within the fashion and apparel industry. Primary Responsibilities • Implementation Leadership: Direct and oversee the master data workstream within the SAP S/4HANA implementation program. Manage internal and external resources, project timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful execution. • Standards & Best Practices: Promote the adoption of industry best practices by leveraging standard SAP S/4HANA functionalities and ensuring alignment with corporate data governance policies. • Stakeholder Management: Facilitate cross-functional collaboration, reconcile differing stakeholder perspectives, and resolve conflicts to drive consensus and project success. • Global Coordination: Collaborate with the global Master Data Management team to ensure local processes are harmonized with global standards and enterprise-wide solutions. • Data Quality & Migration: Lead data cleansing initiatives for articles, customers, and vendors, and oversee the accurate and timely migration of master data to the new SAP S/4HANA platform. Key Duties • Translate business requirements into system functionalities that align with SAP capabilities and organizational objectives. • Foster collaboration across departments and influence cross-functional teams to ensure consistent execution of master data strategies. • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of SAP MDG functionalities, particularly in the context of fashion and apparel master data domains. Familiarity with integration technologies such as IDOCs, BAPIs, and APIs is required. • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for master data processes, ensuring solutions adhere to industry standards and business requirements. • Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to document business processes, functional specifications, test plans, and deployment strategies. • Define and manage user access roles within SAP MDG, ensuring compliance with segregation of duties and audit requirements. • Support the transition from Hypercare to steady-state operations in coordination with application support teams. • Ensure compliance with SAP audit controls and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. • Hands-on experience with SAP MDG, S/4HANA, and Fiori user interface is strongly preferred. Qualifications • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience will also be considered. • Experience: Minimum of 6 years of SAP experience, with a focus on MDG in the retail and FMCG industry. Prior experience implementing SAP solutions for multinational organizations in the APAC region is essential. • Skills: Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities. • Leadership: Proven experience supporting Master Data Management operations within product and technology functions is advantageous. • Initiative: Self-motivated and capable of working independently with a proactive and results-driven approach. • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in professional English.
