Position Overview
The Vice General Manager plays a critical leadership role overseeing both commercial and operational functions within the automotive components business. This position drives revenue growth, strengthens customer relationships, enhances operational efficiency, and supports strategic development across the China organization. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in the automotive supply chain, a proven track record in sales leadership, and the capability to operate effectively in a multinational environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Commercial Leadership
Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve annual revenue and profitability targets.
Lead and manage the sales organization, ensuring strong customer engagement and expansion of key accounts.
Oversee opportunity pipeline management, forecasting accuracy, and commercial decision‑making.
Collaborate closely with Program Management to ensure seamless transition from acquisition to project execution.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to support strategic planning.
2. Sales Operations & Business Management
Build and optimize the Sales Operations framework, including business rhythm, reporting, analytics, and process governance.
Strengthen cross‑functional alignment between Sales, PM, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure business execution excellence.
Support capacity planning, production coordination, and delivery performance through effective communication with plant leadership.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, transparency, and organizational agility.
3. Operational Collaboration
Partner with the Plant Manager (reporting directly to Global CEO) to ensure alignment between commercial commitments and operational capabilities.
Support operational reviews, cost optimization initiatives, and customer delivery performance.
Participate in strategic discussions related to manufacturing footprint, technology upgrades, and operational excellence.
4. Team Leadership & Talent Development
Lead and develop a combined team of Sales and Program Management professionals (approx. 16 people).
Build a high‑performance culture emphasizing accountability, collaboration, and customer focus.
Identify and mentor high‑potential talent, preparing future leaders for rapid advancement.
Promote open communication, constructive feedback, and a positive working environment.
5. Strategic Contribution
Contribute to long‑term business strategy, including market expansion, product portfolio planning, and organizational development.
Represent the company in key customer meetings, industry events, and strategic negotiations.
Ensure alignment with global corporate standards while adapting to local market needs.
Qualifications & Experience
Professional Background
Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering, Business, or related fields.
10+ years of experience in the automotive components industry, with strong exposure to Tier 1/Tier 2 environments.
Solid track record in sales leadership; experience in Sales Operations or Program Management is a strong advantage.
Experience in multinational companies with mature systems and processes.
