Position Overview
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for driving operational excellence, scaling manufacturing capabilities, and ensuring seamless end‑to‑end execution across the company’s energy‑storage and battery product portfolio. This role requires deep industry expertise, strong commercial judgment, and the ability to lead complex, cross‑functional teams in a fast‑growing, technology‑driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Oversee daily operations across manufacturing, supply chain, quality, engineering, and project delivery.
Build and optimize scalable operational systems, processes, and KPIs to support rapid organizational growth.
Lead capacity planning, production ramp‑up, and operational readiness for new product introductions.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
Manufacturing & Supply Chain
Drive world‑class manufacturing performance, including yield improvement, cost reduction, and throughput optimization.
Develop and execute global supply chain strategies covering sourcing, vendor management, and risk mitigation.
Strengthen partnerships with key suppliers of cells, modules, raw materials, and critical components.
Implement advanced manufacturing technologies and automation to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Strategic Execution
Translate company strategy into actionable operational plans with clear milestones and accountability.
Partner with the CEO and executive team on long‑term strategy, market expansion, and product roadmap development.
Lead cross‑functional initiatives to accelerate time‑to‑market and elevate customer satisfaction.
Support fundraising, investor relations, and board reporting with operational insights and performance metrics.
Team & Culture
Build, mentor, and scale high‑performing teams across operations, engineering, and project execution.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, operational rigor, and data‑driven decision‑making.
Promote strong collaboration between R&D, product, commercial, and operations teams.
Qualifications
Required
10+ years of senior operational leadership experience in energy storage, batteries, EV, or advanced manufacturing.
Proven track record in scaling manufacturing operations, ideally in cell, module, pack, or ESS system production.
Strong understanding of battery technologies, energy‑storage systems, and related supply chains.
Demonstrated success managing large teams and multi‑site operations.
Experience with global supply chains and vendor ecosystems across Asia, Europe, or North America.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
Preferred
Experience in both startup and large‑scale industrial environments.
Background in electrochemistry, materials science, mechanical engineering, or related technical fields.
Familiarity with grid‑scale ESS, BESS integration, or renewable‑energy project deployment.
MBA or advanced technical degree.
