Position Summary
The Equipment Procurement Manager is responsible for leading the sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of production equipment, automation systems, tooling, and related engineering services. This role manages the full lifecycle of equipment procurement—from specification alignment and supplier selection to contract negotiation, delivery, installation, and acceptance. The position ensures cost competitiveness, technical compliance, supply continuity, and timely execution of CAPEX projects across the region.
Key Responsibilities
1. Equipment Sourcing & Procurement Management
Lead end‑to‑end procurement of equipment, machinery, automation systems, tooling, and technical services
Manage RFQ/RFP processes, supplier evaluations, cost analysis, and commercial negotiations
Ensure equipment procurement aligns with technical specifications, project timelines, and budget requirements
2. CAPEX Project Support
Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Project Management teams to define equipment requirements
Track equipment manufacturing, FAT/SAT, shipment, installation, and commissioning
Support project risk assessment and ensure timely issue resolution
3. Supplier Management & Development
Develop and maintain a competitive supplier base for equipment and engineering services
Conduct supplier audits, capability assessments, and performance reviews
Drive supplier development initiatives to improve quality, cost, and delivery performance
4. Cost Optimization & Commercial Excellence
Build cost models and conduct total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis
Identify cost‑saving opportunities through standardization, consolidation, and value engineering
Monitor market trends, technology developments, and cost drivers in equipment categories
5. Contracting & Risk Management
Lead contract negotiations including pricing, warranty, service agreements, IP protection, and risk allocation
Ensure compliance with procurement policies, legal requirements, and audit standards
Mitigate risks related to supply, technology, quality, and project execution
6. Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance, and EHS to ensure equipment readiness
Support new production line setups, capacity expansions, and technology upgrades
Provide procurement insights and recommendations to senior leadership
7. Data, Reporting & Process Improvement
Maintain accurate procurement data, supplier information, and CAPEX tracking
Prepare reports on cost savings, supplier performance, and project status
Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, tools, and governance
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Supply Chain, Business, or related fields
Master’s degree or professional certifications (CIPS, PMP, Six Sigma) preferred
Experience
7–10+ years of procurement experience, with at least 3–5 years in equipment or CAPEX procurement
Strong background in manufacturing, industrial equipment, automation, or engineering projects
Experience managing complex equipment categories and multi‑site projects
Skills
Strong commercial negotiation and supplier‑management skills
Solid understanding of equipment specifications, manufacturing processes, and technical documentation
Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and procurement tools
Excellent communication, project management, and cross‑functional collaboration abilities
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Fluent English for business communication
