Principal Accountabilities
The primary focus of the Modeling Engineer is to:
• Define modeling projects aimed at establishing models to enable virtual experiments that benefit multiple business units. Typical projects include: (1) non‑Newtonian fluid mixing (2) reacting flow and multiphase flow (3) free surface flow (4) viscoelastic materials behavior
• Generate innovative concepts for new technologies using numerical techniques; identify potential research areas that would benefit new technology development.
• Conduct detailed theoretical and numerical analysis to increase understanding and insights within the project team and the technical community.
• Analyze results, summarize findings, and communicate these to managers and directors in research, engineering, and manufacturing.
• Support Asia Pacific and global R&D, customer applications, and manufacturing.
Requirements
• Master or PhD degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, polymer materials engineering, or related technical disciplines, with CAD, CFD, and FEA coursework.
• 1–3 years of computational experience for industrial product/process development is preferred.
• Proficiency in commercial computational software such as ANSYS, Star‑CCM+, COMSOL, Abaqus, Aspen Plus, etc.; skilled in pre‑processing, solving, post‑processing, and coding user‑defined subroutines.
• Competency in using desktop workstations and HPC systems for executing modeling tasks.
• Ability to use statistical tools such as JMP to analyze data from various sources.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; proficient English.
Available for business travel (Domestic: up to 20%, International: occasionally).
