Monitor carrier behaviour, capacity changes, blank sailings, port congestion, and regulatory updates.
Build weekly/monthly market intelligence reports for procurement and commercial teams.
2. Rate Benchmarking & Cost Analysis
Benchmark company-paid rates against real market levels to identify savings gaps.
Analyse cost drivers (seasonality, fuel, currency, equipment availability).
Provide cost simulations and landed cost comparisons across alternative routes.
3. Trend Forecasting & Scenario Modelling
Develop short-term and mid-term rate forecasts using historical data, demand indicators, and carrier strategies.
Build scenario models for market disruptions (e.g., Red Sea crisis, port shutdowns, capacity shortages).
Provide early warnings and actionable recommendations to procurement leadership.
4. Data Analytics & Reporting
Maintain dashboards tracking rates, volumes, supplier performance, and market movements.
Use advanced Excel modelling and Power BI/Tableau (if available) to visualise insights.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and timely updates.
