Key responsibilities Develop and execute sourcing strategies for excipients, additives, stabilizers, primary/secondary packaging ancillaries, and other small‑volume materials. Manage end‑to‑end procurement: supplier identification, pre‑qualification, RFI/RFP execution, bid evaluation, negotiation, contracting, and purchase order issuance. Lead supplier qualification and audits to ensure GMP, quality systems, and regulatory compliance; coordinate corrective actions and CAPA with suppliers and quality teams. Collaborate with R&D and Manufacturing to translate technical specifications into sourcing requirements and support formulation development, tech transfers, and scale‑up. Optimize inventory and cost through demand forecasting, safety‑stock strategies, vendor managed inventory, and lifecycle cost analysis. Mitigate supply risk by developing multi‑sourcing strategies, capacity assessments, and contingency plans for critical excipients. Manage supplier performance with KPIs, scorecards, continuous improvement initiatives, and commercial renegotiations. Maintain procurement governance including contract repositories, approval workflows, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Coach and develop junior buyers and cross‑functional stakeholders on technical sourcing topics.   Required qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field. 5+ years procurement experience with at least 2–3 years focused on pharmaceutical excipients, formulation materials, or technical sourcing. Demonstrated experience with supplier qualification, GMP requirements, and regulatory interfaces. Strong track record in RFP management, commercial negotiation, and contract management.
