Key responsibilities
Lead end‑to‑end CAPEX procurement for capital projects: specification review, supplier pre‑qualification, RFI/RFP management, bid evaluation, negotiation, contracting, and PO issuance.
Coordinate cross‑functional project teams (Engineering, Project Management, Finance, Quality) to align procurement timelines with project milestones and budget approvals.
Manage supplier selection and performance for equipment, EPC contractors, installation, commissioning, and long‑term service agreements.
Drive commercial optimization through TCO analysis, lifecycle costing, warranty and spare‑parts strategies, and value engineering.
Ensure compliance and risk mitigation for contract terms, Incoterms, customs, import/export controls, and local regulatory requirements.
Implement procurement governance and controls including approval workflows, contract repositories, and audit readiness.
Develop and maintain relationships with strategic suppliers in Japan, Korea, and APAC; lead supplier development and dispute resolution.
Leverage procurement systems and analytics to improve spend visibility, forecast CAPEX needs, and shorten sourcing cycle times.
Mentor and develop junior procurement staff and contractors.
Required qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field; advanced degree or professional procurement certification preferred.
7+ years procurement experience with at least 3 years focused on CAPEX or project procurement in industrial, manufacturing, energy, or infrastructure sectors.
Business‑level Japanese or Korean (speaking, reading, writing) required.
Proven experience negotiating complex equipment and EPC contracts, including performance guarantees and service level agreements.
Strong knowledge of Incoterms, customs procedures, and international logistics for heavy equipment.
Skills and competencies
Strategic and analytical thinker with strong commercial judgment.
Excellent stakeholder management across technical and commercial teams.
Advanced negotiation and contract drafting skills.
Familiarity with ERP/TMS/eProcurement tools and spend analytics (Power BI/Tableau desirable).
Project‑oriented mindset with ability to manage multiple concurrent CAPEX projects.
