Position Overview
The COO, Asia will act as the strategic and operational link between our Danish headquarters and our Asian operations in Shanghai (China) and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam). We are seeking a visible, high‑impact leader who can unify teams, elevate operational performance, and embed a “Supplier of the Year” mindset across the region.
The role focuses on transforming the organization from reactive firefighting to proactive, data‑driven operational excellence. This includes strengthening sourcing, improving supplier capabilities, enhancing upstream quality, and building a scalable and disciplined supply chain foundation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Excellence & Sourcing
Strategic Sourcing — Lead the sourcing function with a structured, data‑driven approach. Ensure product specifications are clear and aligned from the start.
Supply Chain Positioning — Navigate the “trading sweet spot,” balancing competitive customer pricing with supplier capability and compliance.
Operational Rigor — Maintain hands‑on oversight of daily operations to ensure right‑first‑time execution and on‑time delivery.
Quality Governance — Strengthen upstream quality processes and implement robust SOPs to reduce claims and delays.
Lean & Six Sigma — Drive continuous improvement initiatives at supplier sites to eliminate waste and optimize workflows.
Supplier Capability Tracking — Build and maintain structured tracking of supplier capabilities and performance.
SOP & Governance — Refine and standardize SOPs to ensure scalability and consistency across regions.
2. Supplier Relationship Management
Partnership Mindset — Shift from transactional interactions to long‑term, trust‑based supplier partnerships.
Claims & Escalation — Lead major claim negotiations, ensuring fair and timely resolution without disrupting production.
Contract Management — Ensure supplier agreements are precise, enforceable, and aligned with quality and delivery expectations.
Cost Management — Drive cost‑out and cost‑down initiatives through technical optimization and negotiation.
Market Awareness — Monitor macro‑economic trends (wage index, labor shifts, raw materials) to proactively adjust sourcing strategies.
Sourcing Strategy — Strengthen sourcing processes to balance customer price expectations with supplier capabilities.
3. Leadership & Organizational Development
Cultural Bridge‑Building — Embed Danish corporate culture across Asian operations and act as a unifying force between HQ and regional teams.
Executive Team Contribution — Play an active role in the EMT and help overcome collaboration challenges between Shanghai and Denmark.
Leadership Development — Coach and elevate middle managers, shifting them from hands‑on operators to effective leaders.
Retention & Well‑being — Reduce turnover by fostering transparency, development, and two‑way feedback.
Matrix Collaboration — Work cross‑functionally with Aftersales, Finance, Compliance, and other teams in a complex matrix structure.
职位要求
Professional Experience
Trading DNA — Proven experience in a trading environment is essential and prioritized over industry‑specific experience.
Industrial Insight — Strong technical understanding and credibility to influence factory owners.
Data Literacy — Ability to make decisions based on KPIs, financial data, and analytics.
Technical Toolbox — Hands‑on experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and process optimization.
Cultural Fit
Candidates with Northern European/Danish cultural understanding or experience working in European companies.
