As part of its global transformation journey, the company is seeking an experienced Global Procurement Director to lead and elevate its worldwide procurement organization. Reporting to senior executive leadership, this role will shape procurement strategy across multiple regions while driving supply chain resilience, innovation, cost competitiveness, and long-term business growth. Based in China, this position carries full responsibility for global procurement activities across Europe and Asia and will work closely with executive leadership, R&D, engineering, operations, and key stakeholders worldwide. Key Responsibilities Global Procurement Strategy & Leadership Develop and execute a global procurement strategy aligned with the company's business objectives and growth plans. Lead strategic sourcing initiatives and major supplier negotiations across global categories. Build and optimize a high-performing international supplier network to enhance competitiveness, quality, and supply continuity. Drive category management excellence, supplier performance improvement, and sustainable cost optimization. Ensure effective procurement governance and risk management on a global scale. Supply Chain Localization & Best-Cost Sourcing Expand and strengthen sourcing capabilities across Asia, particularly in China and other key manufacturing markets. Drive localization strategies to improve responsiveness, competitiveness, and supply chain resilience. Develop strategic supplier partnerships and robust business continuity plans. Identify and implement opportunities for supplier development and supply-base diversification. Strategic Partnership with R&D and Engineering Establish Procurement as a key business partner in new product development. Ensure early supplier engagement and procurement involvement during product design phases. Drive initiatives such as Design-to-Cost, Target Costing, and Value Engineering. Build innovation partnerships with strategic suppliers to accelerate technology and product development. Support product standardization and platform strategies to improve efficiency and competitiveness. Procurement Transformation & Digitalization Lead the continuous improvement of procurement processes, systems, and governance frameworks. Accelerate procurement digitalization through advanced analytics, automation, and modern sourcing tools. Build KPI-driven performance management systems and improve decision-making transparency. Promote best practices and operational excellence throughout the global procurement organization. Leadership & Talent Development Lead and develop an international procurement team across multiple geographies. Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance culture. Build organizational capabilities, succession pipelines, and leadership talent. Align global teams around common objectives, processes, and operational standards. Candidate Requirements Professional Experience Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline. Extensive leadership experience within strategic procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management in an industrial, manufacturing, electronics, automation, or technology-driven environment. Proven track record in leading global procurement organizations and implementing international sourcing strategies. Strong expertise in: Global Sourcing Category Management Strategic Supplier Management Contract Negotiation Procurement Transformation Experience with electronics components, PCBs, electromechanical products, connectors, sensors, optics, or related commodity groups is highly preferred. Demonstrated success in building and localizing global supply chains, particularly across Asia. Leadership & Stakeholder Management Successful experience leading geographically dispersed international teams. Strong change management and organizational development capabilities. Strategic thinker with a hands-on execution mindset. Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills. Comfortable interacting with senior executives, technical leaders, and cross-functional global teams. International & Cross-Cultural Experience Strong understanding of Chinese supplier ecosystems and manufacturing environments. Experience collaborating within multinational organizations, particularly European or German corporate cultures. Ability to bridge cultural differences and drive alignment across regions. Willingness and flexibility to travel internationally on a regular basis, including extended periods in Europe when required. Language Fluent Mandarin and English are essential.
