Role Overview
Our client is seeking a Global Strategic Sourcing Director to lead the transformation of its global sourcing and supplier management practices.
Based in China, this role will require frequent international travel, working closely with global leadership teams. The position offers a unique opportunity to bring structure, discipline, and strategic direction to a currently evolving sourcing environment.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this role serves as a key member of the leadership team and will act as a critical change agent, driving sourcing excellence, supplier performance, and cost competitiveness across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supplier Risk Management
• Build and implement a structured framework for existing vendor risk analysis
• Develop risk mitigation strategies to ensure supply continuity
• Monitor supplier performance and proactively manage risk exposure globally
2. New Vendor Onboarding & NPI Support
• Design and standardize the new supplier onboarding process
• Ensure sourcing capabilities effectively support New Product Introduction (NPI)
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering and Operations to enable agile supplier ramp-up
3. Cost & Financial Analysis
• Lead cost modeling and financial analysis to drive total cost optimization
• Identify savings opportunities and improvement levers across the supply base
• Partner with Finance to enhance cost transparency and forecasting
4. Supplier Capacity & Performance Management
• Establish robust processes for supplier capacity assessment and planning
• Ensure suppliers can flexibly respond to changing demand volumes
• Drive continuous performance improvement across the supplier base
5. Sourcing Transformation & Governance
• Define and execute a global sourcing strategy and governance model
• Standardize tools, KPIs, and processes across regions (Europe & US)
• Drive alignment across functions and geographies
6. Team Leadership & Capability Building
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing global sourcing team
• Define organization structure, roles, and capability roadmap
• Coach and mentor team members to strengthen sourcing, negotiation, and analytical capabilities
• Foster a performance-driven and accountable culture
职位要求
Ideal Candidate Background
• Proven leadership experience in strategic sourcing / procurement within industrial manufacturing, ideally from pump, valve, fluid control, or motion technology sectors (e.g., Parker Hannifin, Danfoss, Eaton, Grundfos, etc.)
• Strong understanding of engineered components and complex supplier networks
• Experience operating in global, matrix organizations with exposure to both Europe and US markets
• Proven track record managing multi-country sourcing operations and diverse supplier base at scale
