I'm currently partnering with a leading global retail and consumer products organization to identify a Director, Product Quality to lead its product quality, compliance, safety and supplier quality strategy across APAC and global markets.
This is a highly visible leadership role, responsible for driving quality excellence across a diverse product portfolio while partnering closely with global stakeholders, sourcing teams and senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the overall product quality, compliance and safety strategy across multiple product categories and regions.
• Build and enhance Quality Management Systems (QMS) and governance frameworks.
• Drive supplier quality management, product testing, audits and compliance programs.
• Partner with sourcing, merchandising and product teams to embed quality throughout the product lifecycle.
• Lead quality investigations, risk mitigation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage and develop a multi-site quality organization.
Ideal Background
• 10+ years of product quality, compliance or product safety leadership experience.
• Experience leading managers and large cross-functional teams.
• Strong knowledge of global quality and regulatory standards such as ISO, FDA, CPSC, OSHA or equivalent.
• Proven track record implementing and driving Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Experience within consumer products, retail, sourcing, manufacturing or supply chain environments preferred.
• Strong stakeholder management capabilities with experience working across global organizations.
Additional Requirements
✅ Based in Shenzhen with 4 days per week in-office presence
✅ Ability to travel internationally, including regular trips to India
✅ Valid passport required (issued outside Mainland China)
✅ Direct employment under a China-based contract
✅ Fluent English communication skills required for frequent interaction with global stakeholders
