About the Role
Our client, a leading player in the advanced manufacturing sector, is seeking a highly skilled Machining Process Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This role is ideal for a hands-on, solutions‑driven professional who is passionate about machining technologies, process optimisation, and continuous improvement in a high‑precision production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, optimise, and validate machining processes (CNC milling, turning, grinding, etc.) to ensure quality, efficiency, and cost competitiveness.
Create and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, tooling specifications, and machining parameters.
Lead troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis for machining‑related issues on the shop floor.
Collaborate closely with production, quality, maintenance, and R&D teams to support new product introduction (NPI) and process upgrades.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies.
Evaluate and introduce new machining technologies, tools, and equipment to enhance capability and productivity.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
Solid experience in machining process engineering within a precision manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of CNC programming, tooling, cutting parameters, and machining optimisation.
Familiarity with GD&T, SPC, PFMEA, and other engineering tools.
Hands‑on problem‑solving mindset with strong analytical and communication skills.
Ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced, high‑performance environment.
