About the Company
Our client is a well-established European industrial equipment manufacturer with a strong global footprint and a long-standing reputation for engineering excellence, innovation, and quality. The company serves customers across multiple industrial sectors and continues to invest in its China operations to support business growth and enhance operational capabilities.
As part of its ongoing development, they are seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead the end-to-end operations function based in Zhuhai.
The Role
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Operations Director will be responsible for the overall performance of the operations organization, covering Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehousing, Production Planning, Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
This position requires a hands-on leader who can drive operational excellence while effectively managing cross-functional stakeholders locally and globally.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the full operations organization, including Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehouse, Production Planning, and Manufacturing teams.
Develop and execute operational strategies that support business objectives and sustainable growth.
Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, productivity, quality, cost, and customer delivery performance.
Ensure effective execution of Make-to-Order (MTO) manufacturing operations and project delivery requirements.
Build strong partnerships with Sales, Engineering, Finance, Quality, and other key functions.
Influence and align multiple stakeholders across departments to drive business priorities and operational goals.
Monitor and improve key operational metrics and performance indicators.
Lead organizational change and operational transformation initiatives.
Act as a strategic business partner to the General Manager and leadership team.
Maintain close communication with regional and global stakeholders, ensuring effective collaboration with headquarters.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or related disciplines.
Extensive leadership experience in industrial equipment, machinery, automation, engineered products, or a similar manufacturing environment.
Strong experience in Make-to-Order (MTO) manufacturing operations is highly preferred.
Proven track record leading multi-functional teams covering procurement, supply chain, warehousing, logistics, planning, and manufacturing.
Strong cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
Experience working within a multinational organization and interacting with overseas headquarters.
Fluent English communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with global stakeholders.
Strategic mindset combined with strong execution capability.
Results-driven leader with excellent problem-solving and change management skills.
