Payroll Manager
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations and governance across multiple countries and regions. The role will be responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant payroll delivery, driving payroll process optimization, managing external vendors, and serving as a trusted partner to global HR, Finance, Tax, Legal, and business stakeholders.
The ideal candidate should possess strong global payroll exposure, excellent stakeholder management capabilities, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, multinational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Operations Management
Lead end-to-end payroll operations to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing across multiple countries and entities.
Oversee monthly payroll cycles, including salary calculation, bonus payments, allowances, deductions, tax withholding, and statutory benefits.
Ensure payroll activities comply with local labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
Manage payroll audits, reconciliations, and controls to ensure data accuracy and process integrity.
Global Payroll Governance
Partner with regional HR teams and external payroll vendors to deliver standardized and compliant payroll services globally.
Monitor payroll performance metrics and service level agreements (SLAs).
Drive payroll governance initiatives, ensuring consistency and compliance across different regions.
Manage global payroll calendars and coordinate cross-country payroll activities.
Stakeholder Management
Act as the primary payroll contact for senior stakeholders across HR, Finance, Tax, Legal, Internal Audit, and business leadership.
Build strong relationships with regional and global stakeholders to address payroll-related issues and drive continuous improvement.
Provide payroll insights, analytics, and recommendations to support business decisions.
Manage escalations and resolve complex payroll matters effectively.
Process Improvement & Projects
Continuously evaluate payroll processes and identify opportunities for efficiency, automation, and risk reduction.
Lead payroll transformation and system implementation projects.
Partner with HRIS, Finance, and IT teams on system enhancements and integration initiatives.
Support M&A, organizational restructuring, and expansion projects from a payroll perspective.
Vendor Management
Manage relationships with global and local payroll service providers.
Conduct regular vendor performance reviews and governance meetings.
Ensure vendors meet compliance, quality, and service standards.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree or above in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
Experience
8+ years of payroll experience, with at least 3 years in a Payroll Manager or Regional Payroll Lead role.
Proven experience managing payroll across multiple countries and regions.
Solid understanding of payroll compliance, taxation, and statutory requirements.
Experience working within multinational corporations or complex matrix organizations.
