The Head of BU Operations and Supply Chain is a senior executive responsible for driving the global operational competitiveness of the Marine Solutions Business Unit. This role oversees multi‑site operations across regions, ensuring that customer demands are effectively translated into robust operational and supply chain strategies. The position requires strong capability in converting business strategies into executable operational initiatives, leading global transformation programs, and elevating operational excellence across the value chain.
This role collaborates closely with Operations and Supply Chain leaders across the division and the broader group. A proven track record in managing complex, multi‑site global operations—preferably within marine, machinery, mechanical equipment, or automotive industries—is essential. Strong business acumen, change‑management capability, and fluent English communication are required.
The position reports directly to the Business Unit President and is a key member of the BU Marine Solutions Management Team.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
• Contribute to the definition and execution of the BU strategy by translating business strategies into operational and supply chain strategies, measurable targets, and KPIs. • Lead the global supply plan execution through central focus areas and the BU organization, ensuring alignment with customer demand and business priorities. • Drive the competitiveness, resilience, and scalability of the global supply chains within Marine Solutions. • Oversee global supply chain operations with a holistic perspective, covering planning, sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, and distribution. • Lead the Supply Chain function and drive the agenda across Centers of Excellence, including HSE, Production Processes, Production Systems, Sourcing, Operations Development, and Parts & Distribution. • Champion long‑term operational capability building and technology development in collaboration with Product Groups and Supply Managers. • Strengthen functional competencies across global teams, ensuring capability development in operations, supply chain, and continuous improvement. • Work closely with Operations leaders from other Business Units to ensure alignment, best‑practice sharing, and synergy creation. • Lead organizational development, talent growth, and leadership capability building within the global operations organization. • Navigate and lead effectively in a matrix organization, contributing to both tactical and strategic decision‑making at the management team level. • Lead a global team including Factory Managers, Sourcing Manager, S&OP Manager, and Operations Development Manager. • Drive operational excellence initiatives, supply chain enhancement programs, and continuous improvement across global sites. • Ensure effective change‑management execution for global transformation initiatives, including footprint optimization, digitalization, and process standardization.
Who You Are
An experienced global operations leader with a strong track record in managing multi‑site operations at regional or global scale. Able to convert business strategies into actionable operational initiatives and drive measurable improvements in supply chain performance, operational excellence, and cost competitiveness.
Brings deep experience in industries such as marine, machinery, mechanical equipment, or automotive (preferred but not mandatory). Demonstrates strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and the ability to lead complex change programs across diverse geographies and cultures.
Collaborative, influential, and skilled at stakeholder management. With a strong background in Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement, consistently drives performance, efficiency, and organizational capability.
