Position Overview
Responsible for establishing, maintaining, and continuously improving the quality management system for rubber-based automotive components (such as seals, vibration control parts, hoses, etc.). Ensure products meet OEM and Tier-1 customer requirements, drive quality improvement, cost reduction, and risk prevention. Lead the quality team and oversee supplier quality, process quality, customer quality, and system management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Strategy & System Management
Lead the establishment, maintenance, and continuous improvement of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality management systems
Develop and achieve annual quality objectives, including PPM, complaint rate, and delivery quality
Promote effective implementation of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and other core quality tools
Organize internal audits, management reviews, and support third‑party audits
2. Customer Quality Management
Serve as the primary quality interface for OEM and Tier‑1 customers; handle customer complaints, 8D reports, and corrective actions
Lead customer audits, product approval (PPAP), and quality planning for new projects
Monitor customer quality performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives
3. Supplier Quality Management (SQE)
Manage supplier development, audits, performance evaluation, and continuous improvement
Ensure suppliers implement incoming quality control, process capability improvement, and issue resolution
Participate in quality risk assessment for key raw materials (rubber compounds, chemicals, metal parts, etc.)
4. Manufacturing Process Quality Management
Oversee quality control for rubber mixing, vulcanization, injection molding, compression molding, and post‑processing
Drive process capability improvement (Cp/Cpk), defect reduction, and process stability enhancement
Lead major quality issue analysis and root cause identification using 5Why, Fishbone, DOE, and other methodologies
5. Team Leadership & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Manage the quality team (IQC, IPQC, OQC, SQE, CQE, system engineers, etc.)
Collaborate with R&D, engineering, production, and procurement to support quality planning and improvement
Train team members on quality tools and customer-specific requirements
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or above in Materials, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Rubber Engineering, or related fields
8+ years of quality management experience in the automotive components industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
Strong understanding of rubber product manufacturing processes and defect analysis
Technical Skills
Proficient in IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, 8D
Familiar with quality requirements of major OEMs (e.g., VW, Toyota, Ford, GM) or Tier‑1 suppliers
Strong data analysis and problem‑solving skills
Soft Skills
Excellent communication and coordination abilities with customers and suppliers
Strong execution and ability to perform under pressure
Strategic thinking and team leadership capability
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in rubber formulation or material analysis
Background in multinational companies or overseas customer management
Knowledge of VDA 6.3 / VDA 6.5
Lean or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt / Black Belt)
