New Business Project Leader
Role Overview
The New Business Project Leader will drive the identification, development, and launch of new products and business opportunities for our organization. This role requires a procurement‑driven professional with strong supplier insight, hands‑on sourcing experience, and the commercial sharpness to turn ideas into profitable business cases.
You will lead cross‑functional projects from concept to launch, working closely with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and customers. The ideal candidate combines deep sourcing expertise, strong commercial instincts, and excellent project leadership.
1. New Product & Business Development
Opportunity Scouting — Identify new product and category opportunities based on market trends, customer needs, and supplier capabilities.
Product Development — Lead end‑to‑end new product development, from idea validation to sample approval and pilot production.
Commercial Assessment — Build business cases including cost structures, pricing models, margin analysis, and risk evaluation.
Category Expansion — Support the expansion of new categories aligned with company strategy and customer demand.
2. Procurement & Supplier Management
Supplier Sourcing — Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers with strong capability and competitive cost structures.
Negotiation — Lead commercial negotiations to secure optimal pricing, terms, and development commitments.
Cost Engineering — Work with suppliers to optimize cost, improve manufacturability, and enhance product competitiveness.
Supplier Relationship Management — Build strong, trust‑based partnerships to support long‑term new business growth.
3. Project Leadership & Execution
Project Planning — Create structured project plans with clear milestones, deliverables, and timelines.
Cross‑Functional Leadership — Coordinate with sourcing, quality, logistics, finance, and sales to ensure smooth execution.
Risk Management — Identify risks early and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
On‑Time Delivery — Ensure all new business projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with commercial targets.
4. Market, Customer & Commercial Insight
Market Analysis — Monitor competitor activity, pricing trends, and category dynamics.
Customer Insight — Work closely with customers to understand needs and validate product‑market fit.
Commercial Strategy — Ensure new products meet commercial targets and support long‑term business growth.
Profitability Optimization — Continuously improve cost, margin, and value proposition.
